In Honor of Baroness Mary Garrett of Seasalter, OL, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past spring, this is a free event. Although you still need to sign in at troll, there is no site fee. ACTIVITIES

Our Marshals in Charge are planning fun and challenging activities with prizes. Event activities begin 9:30 AM on Saturday.

  • Thrown Weapons
    • Thrown weapons and marshaling were two of Mary’s favorite SCA activities. Stop at the range and throw an ax, a knife, or a spear in her memory.
    • The Duck Hunt Challenge
      • Baron Uilleag Balbhán challenge you in the hunt of ducks. During the day, you can throw at the thrown weapons range to top Uilleag’s score to go home with your pick of a yellow duck.
  • Target Archery
    • The Duck Hunt Challenge
      • Baroness Slany bean Uillic challenge you in the hunt of ducks. During the day, you can shoot at the archery range to top Slany’s score and walk away with your own duck.
  • Rapier
  • Armored Combat
  • Ever wonder what shooting Combat Archery or shooting Ballista would be like? You’ll have a chance to shoot at non-human targets at this event.
  • There is an open field for kite flying – another of Mary’s favorite pastimes.

This is a great opportunity for newcomers to come, have fun, and get introduced to the SCA.

A&S DISPLAY

In lieu of an A&S competition, and cognizant of the fact there may be many newcomers, we would like to have an A&S display of items made by the SCA community that can spark the interest and discussion of both old timers and newcomers alike. To this end, we would welcome any artisans demonstrating their craft at the event. As Baroness Mary Garrett was a Mistress of the Laurel in metalworking, there will be a prize for the best metal object display or demonstration.
